Welcome Message from the UTA President, Mme Yewagnesh (Yogi) Biriggwa
Welcome to the official website of the Uganda Tourism Association (UTA), the umbrella organisation uniting Uganda’s tourism industry. It is my pleasure to extend warm greetings to all visitors, partners, and stakeholders who share in our passion for Uganda’s incredible tourism potential.
UTA exists to champion the growth and development of Uganda’s tourism sector, fostering a professional, competitive, and sustainable industry that contributes to national development. As the collective voice of private-sector tourism enterprises, we work tirelessly to ensure that Destination Uganda remains at the forefront of global tourism.
Uganda is truly the Pearl of Africa, boasting diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality. Our association represents over 2,500 tourism enterprises, ranging from tour operators, travel agents, and accommodation providers to safari guides, community-based tourism initiatives, and cultural heritage organisations. Collectively, we employ a significant percentage of women and youth, ensuring that tourism remains an engine for inclusive economic growth.
Membership in UTA offers businesses and professionals unparalleled benefits, including advocacy for a favourable business environment, opportunities for skills development, market access, and adherence to high-quality standards. We also facilitate networking, collaboration, and industry-wide innovation to enhance Uganda’s competitiveness in global tourism.
As you explore our website, I encourage you to discover the many reasons Uganda is a must-visit destination. Whether you are a traveller looking for a unique adventure, an investor seeking rewarding opportunities, or a stakeholder keen to contribute to the growth of Uganda’s tourism industry, you are in the right place.
Uganda’s natural beauty and welcoming spirit await you. Join us in celebrating, promoting, and investing in Uganda’s thriving tourism sector. Welcome to UTA, and welcome to the Pearl of Africa!
